If blogs and bulletin boards are anything to go by, then there are lots of investors who describe themselves as investing for the long-term, but who regard the recent performance of the market and, more importantly, their own portfolios as painful and worrying. That seems somewhat counter intuitive to me. We all (hopefully) know that the economy and the market move in cycles and that another big downward correction would come at some time.
